Coming Soon

Dear Friends,

We have some exciting news to share with you… We have decided, with much encouragement from many of you, to open the Round House Bakery Café ! We are very excited to re-open the beloved village coffee house in the former Bean Heads located at 1 Washington Street, next to Hubbard Hall in Cambridge.

Three years ago we opened the Round House Bakery at Pompanuck Farm and began selling our baked goods at the Cambridge and Glens Falls Farmers Markets, the Cambridge Coop, Spice n Nice in Bennington, and other small retail establishments. With the opening of Round House Bakery Café, we can now offer our full array of baked goods to you: organic breads, breakfast pastries, traditional and gluten-free cookies, specialty cakes, and excellent coffees. Lunch offerings will include savory soups, mouth-watering stews, abundant salads, and fantastic sandwiches on our wide variety of artisan breads. Once we open, we will post our weekly menu on our Facebook page and our blog, (www.roundhousebakery.blogspot.com).

Springtime hours will be 7am-3pm on weekdays, (Wed.-Fri.). and 9am-4pm on weekends. In the summer, we hope to extend our hours as we grow our business and staff. Look for our opening sometime in March.

We are excited to have access to the building to make repairs, updates and to get the space spruced up and in shape. Also needed are several pieces of kitchen equipment, tables, chairs and general repairs.

So, this is where we need your support...    Round House Bakery is still a young business and we do not have all of the upfront funds needed to open as quickly as we would like. Our hope is that you will be as excited as we are to have this community resource return, and will invest in and support this venture by joining our “Round House Bakery Pre-Buy Club” so that we can raise the funds necessary to open. Here is how it will work:

You can invest in the Round House Bakery Café by pre-buying our delicious baked goods, fabulous meals and excellent coffee offerings in increments of 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 (or more??) dollars. We will register your investment in our Club Member file and then each time you come into the cafe', 10% of your bill will be deducted from your pre-buy amount until your “investment” is paid back. This pay-back percentage may increase once we are more firmly established. Of course, anytime you would like to increase or renew your “credit” you may do so easily.

This is a no-risk investment for you for because we can also honor your investment through our Bakery at Pompanuck Farm and we know that you will enjoy the offerings of our Café. In addition, we’ll be offering members-only specials and events from time to time as a “Thank You!” to our greatly appreciated investors.

If you have any questions or concerns before deciding to invest in the Round House Bakery Café please contact Scott and Lisa at roundhousebakery@pompanuck.org or call us at 518.677.8121. If you already know that you would like to support this venture, please mail a check made out to Round House Bakery to 494 Chestnut Hill Road Cambridge NY  12816,  or you can drop it at Battenkill Books 15 East Main St, Cambridge. If you would like to invest using a credit card, please call us. You will receive confirmation of your investment and your membership card will be put on file.

Thanks you for your time and consideration. Whether you join the Pre-Buyers Club or not, we look forward to welcoming you in the Round House Bakery Café  !

With great coffee in one hand and a fabulous scone in the other,

Cookie and Pop    aka    Lisa and Scott
